Asian caprolactam prices extend losses in the week ended May 21, weighed down by slow demand and subdued buying interest. "Current market pricing has shifted back to supply-demand dynamics. With downstream and consumer end demand continuing to slow, the market is correcting itself accordingly," said a Northeast Asian buyer, adding that slow-moving stockpiles from earlier panic buying and demand uncertainty have deferred restocking activities. A Northeast Asian producer echoed similar sentiments, noting that the market is in a heavy wait-and-see mode as the domestic Chinese market continues its correction and enters a consolidation phase.
