US West Coast Light End Daily Commentary / LA CARBOB rises 4 cents amid flaring / PBF Torrance plans unit work through May 25 / California imports total 865,850 barrels for the week ended May 22

In California, Los Angeles CARBOB differentials had a marginal uptick on May 18 amid regional flaring and incoming imports. the differential up 4 cents to NYMEX June RBOB futures plus 30 cents/gal following a trade heard in the market. The outright price gained 8.88 cents/gal to end the trading session at $4.0607/ gal. The latest close marked the first time the outright price closed stronger than $4/gal since May 5. PBF expects flaring at its Torrance, California, refinery May 18-May 25 for the start-up/shutdown of a unit, according to a May 17 filing made with the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
