The Asian methyl methacrylate market prices in Asia rose in the week to May 12, as inventories in China began to decline. Asian methyl methacrylate prices were up week over week at $1,935/metric ton CFR China and $2,070/mt CFR Southeast Asia. Spot MMA prices have been gradually recovering, market sources said. The first sign of improving sentiment was visible through a recent increase in domestic MMA prices, one Chinese producer said. "Yes, prices have been rising domestically [as] domestic spot supply is scarce," the producer said. While domestic prices on May 12 were unchanged from the previous day, there is optimism growing for further price improvements in the near term, a second Chinese producer said.
