PTT Global Chemical has shut down its No.1 phenol and acetone unit in Map Ta Phut. A source in Taiwan informed a team member, “The company is heard to have halted operations at the unit around September 15, 2025 due to a mechanical issue. However, the duration of the shutdown has not been confirmed, and official confirmation is still pending.” Located in Map Ta Phut, Thailand, the No.1 unit has a phenol production capacity of 250,000 mt/year and acetone production capacity of 150,000 mt/year.
