Asian Orthoxylene: Extends losses amid prevailing weakness / Sinopec adjusts prices twice / Indian demand slow, yet persists

Asian orthoxylene market continued to trend south during the week ending Aug. 15, as China’s prices dropped further on sluggish demand. Asian orthoxylene down $15/ mt week over week at $815/mt CFR China and $815/mt FOB Korea, and $20/mt down at $830/mt CFR Southeast Asia on Aug. 15. China’s major orthoxylene producer Sinopec has lowered the OX listed price by Yuan 100/mt at the start of the week of Aug. 11, and reduced further by another Yuan 100/mt in the mid-week, a company source confirmed. The listed price of OX has been reduced to Yuan 6,400/mt while it was last posted at Yuan 6,500/ mt on Aug. 11.
