Asian solvent-grade mixed xylene $21/mt lower week over week at $659/mt FOB Korea on Aug. 15, amid limited discussions over the week. Early in the day, a September offer for 1,000 mt of solvent MX at $660/mt floated in the FOB Korea market; however, there was no buying interest in response to this offer. A market source indicated that falling upstream crude oil and naphtha prices, against the backdrop of supported aromatics prices, provided the market with mixed signals. He added that buyers held back their purchases until further price clarity.
