Maoming Petrochemical Shihua brings MTBE plant on stream

Maoming Petrochemical Shihua has restarted its Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) plant in Guangdong. A source in China informed a team member, “The company resumed operations at the plant on or around September 22, 2025, following a maintenance shutdown that began on or around August 27, 2025. Attempts to obtain confirmation from an authorized source were unsuccessful.” Located in Maoming, Guangdong in China, the MTBE plant has a production capacity of 170,000 mt/year.
