Idemitsu SM Malaysia resumes production at SM plant

Idemitsu SM has restarted its styrene monomer (SM) plant in Pasir Gudang. A source in Malaysia informed a team member, “The company is heard to have brought the plant on stream around September 20, 2025. The plant was taken offline for maintenance around August 25, 2025. However, an official statement from the concerned authority was unavailable.” Located in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia, the SM plant has a production capacity of 240,000 mt/year.
