Celanese is likely to restart its Ethyl acetate (etac)/butyl acetate (butac) plant on Jurong Island. A source in Singapore informed a team member, “The company is expected to resume operations at the plant by late September or early October 2025, following a maintenance shutdown that began in mid-August 2025. However, no official confirmation has been obtained.” Located in Jurong Island, Singapore, the plant has an etac production capacity of 85,000 mt/year and butac production capacity of 60,000 mt/year.
