Asian Benzene: Rises tracking higher crude / Taiwan premiums stagnant / South Korean exports rise 20% MOM

Asian benzene was assessed up 34 cents/mt day over day at $733.67/mt FOB Korea Aug. 15, amid rangebound discussions and tracking higher crude. Upstream, the front-month October ICE Brent futures rose 52 cents/b to $66.33/b as of the Asian close. No trades were reported during the Market on Close assessment process. Interest in the H2 September and October laycans remained healthy during the session, with the bid-ask spreads on the MOC at $1/mt and $2/mt, respectively. In statistics news, South Korea’s benzene exports stood at 258,372 mt in July, up 19.8% month over month and 13.4% year over year, according to South Korea’s trade statistics.
