Asian nylon-6 prices stagnated in the week to Aug. 13, pressured by slow demand and higher supply expectations. Spot offer levels fell during the week, as market discussion and buying interest mostly concentrated on lower prices. Buyers were heard staying on the sidelines, restocking only on an as-needed basis, as the market awaited clearer price direction. "The main problem is insufficient downstream demand momentum," a China-based producer said. "Buying interest is also highly cautious due to volatile market conditions and the upcoming release of new capacity." Looking ahead, some sources eyed a potential improvement in the traditional peak month of September following the 90-day extension of the US-China tariff deadline, but were also highly concerned about greater supply coming from an emerging player in the second half of 2025....
