Asian acrylonitrile prices were steady in the week to Aug. 11 amid thin trading. acrylonitrile CFR Far East Asia stable week over week at $1,540/metric ton Aug. 11, while CFR Southeast Asia was stable over the same period at $1,520/mt. Market sources said buying appetite remains weak, with most buyers keeping to the sidelines across the week. "We are not offering to Northeast Asia or Southeast Asia this week as we have not received any buying interest," said a Taiwanese producer. Similarly, Chinese producers said it was difficult to move cargoes as there has been no export demand.
