the Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene CFR China marker at $1,610/metric ton Sept. 23, down $20/mt week over week. A trade was heard in the CFR China market for 150-200 metric tons of ABS at $1,610/mt. According to calculations, the feedstock cost for ABS, determined as the weighted average of feedstock styrene monomer, butadiene and acrylonitrile costs plus a fixed cost of $280/mt, was at $1,678.80/mt Sept. 23, down $38.70/mt from the previous week. “Customers are all essentially bearish,” a Northeast Asiabased producer said. “Sales are difficult as crude oil prices are falling, hence customers will wait and see,” a separate Northeast Asia-based producer said.
