The Asian gasoline complex strengthened midafternoon trade on Aug. 11, tracking a widening US RBOB Brent crack, while supported by positive demand signals. Indonesian demand for gasoline was heard to be higher in August at about 11 million-12 million barrels, compared with estimates of 9 million-10 million barrels for July, according to a Southeast Asia-based market source. Brokers pegged the front-month FOB Singapore 92 RON gasoline swaps crack spread against Brent swaps at $18.80-$19.00/b midafternoon Aug. 11, widening from the assessment of $17.62/b at the Asian close Aug. 7. Broking sources also placed the physical FOB Singapore 92 RON gasoline crack spread against the front-month ICE Brent crude oil futures at $22.95- $23.05/b midafternoon Aug. 11, up from the of $21.69/b at the Asian close Aug. 7.
