Fundamentals in the Indian acetic acid market continued to remain under pressure due to a healthy supply and weak downstream demand. Domestic ex-tank prices eased around Rupee 32.50-33/kg at Kandla and Mumbai port due to healthy port inventories and active selling in the domestic market. “Market activity is very slow this week, port inventories are high, and three days of holiday starting Aug. 15 have further weighed on the trade momentum in the week starting Aug. 11,” a trader said, adding that Kandla port inventory was hovering around 35,000 mt and Aegis terminal was also stock up with around 15,000 mt acetic acid.
