Asian polyethylene prices were rangebound in the week to Sept. 3 amid stable demand-supply fundamentals in China and the national holidays in Vietnam. HDPE Film CFR Far East Asia stable week over week at $855/mt while LLDPE Butene CFR Far East Asia was unchanged week over week at $850/mt. Downstream demand for LLDPE agricultural film was heard picking up as the end of summer approaches, though sources said overall demand was still sluggish. "Average operating rates for agricultural film factories are still around 40%, there has been some uptick, but there are still not many orders yet," said a trader.
