Purified terephthalic acid prices in India fell day over day Oct. 16, tracking feedstock paraxylene values and supported by a wider spread between CFR China and CFR India prices. PTA CFR India down $21/metric ton day over day and down $31/mt week over week at $1,050/mt on Oct. 16, widening the spread to PTA CFR China to $90/mt. The spread was within tradable indications heard at $85-$100/mt over PTA CFR China, which equated to $1,045-$1,060/mt on a CFR India basis. The assessment was below a sell idea heard at PX CFR Taiwan/China plus $110/mt FOB Southeast Asia, which equated to $1,060/mt CFR India.
