Trading was thin in the Asian polyethylene market in the week to Aug. 20. Activity is expected to pick up over the next week as the market anticipates fresh Middle East offers. HDPE film down $5/mt week over week at $855/mt CFR Far East Asia on Aug. 20, LLDPE butene stable at $850/mt CFR FE Asia, and LDPE G-P unchanged at $1,025/mt CFR FE Asia over the same period. In China, market talks regarding the government's anticipated move to launch a major overhaul of its petrochemicals and oil refining sector were heard Aug. 20.
