Asian gasoline cracks strengthened in midafternoon May 18, supported by firm regional demand and supply concerns, according to market sources. Regional buyers were heard seeking to build gasoline inventories amid expectations that the Middle East conflict could persist for an extended period. Saudi Aramco’s 85,000 barrels/day reformer at the Jazan refinery in Saudi Arabia is down and expected to be back within a few weeks, two analysts and two buyers told on May 14.
