Toray Plastics lowers run rates at ABS plant

Toray Plastics Malaysia is presently running its Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plant at curtailed capacity levels. A source in Malaysia informed a team member, “The company is heard to have reduced plant run rates to around 70% of production capacity in September 2025. The reason for the production cuts could not be determined, and no official confirmation has been obtained.” Located in Penang, Malaysia, the plant has a production capacity of 425,000 mt/year.
