Sinopec Mitsui Chemicals has taken off stream its phenol and acetone unit in Shanghai. A Polymerupdate source in China informed a team member, “The company is heard to have halted operations at the unit around September 3, 2025 for maintenance. Details regarding the duration of the shutdown remain unclear, and confirmation from an authorized source has not yet been obtained.” Located in Shanghai, China, the unit has a phenol production capacity of 250,000 mt/year and acetone production capacity of 150,000 mt/year.
