Shell Chemicals eyes turnaround at EG unit

Shell Chemicals is likely to shut its Ethylene glycol (EG) unit. A source in the Netherlands informed a team member, “The company is expected to halt operations at the unit by March 2026 for a maintenance turnaround. The exact date and duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Moerdijk, in the Netherlands, the EG unit has a production capacity of 155,000 mt/year.
