Sarawak Petchem undertakes unplanned shutdown at methanol plant

Sarawak Petchem has taken off stream its methanol plant in Tanjung Kidurong. A source in Malaysia informed a team member, “The company is heard to have halted operations at its plant in mid-September 2025 due to a technical issue. The duration of the shutdown remains unclear, and attempts to obtain confirmation from an authorized source were unsuccessful” Located in Tanjung Kidurong, Malaysia, the plant has a production capacity of 1.75 million mt/year.
