Asian PVC: Weaker Asian PVC prices despite higher Sep offers / Formosa September offers $10-$30/mt higher MOM / Chinese domestic PVC prices down Yuan 100/mt

Asian PVC prices were stable to weak in the week to Aug. 27, with market participants adopting a wait-and-see approach in response to lower September offers this week. PVC CFR China down $25/mt week over week at $705/mt Aug. 27, partially considering offers heard at $710-$740/mt. A trade heard at $730/mt was not considered for the assessment as it could not be corroborated with the wider market. Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics announced its PVC offers for September on Aug. 26. FOB Taiwan was heard offered at $655/ mt, up $10/mt month over month. CFR China was heard offered at $710/mt, up $10/mt month over month. CFR India was heard offered at $760/mt, up $30/mt month over month. Some market participants were surprised that only Formosa’s CFR India prices were $30/mt higher...
