Pengerang Refining and Petrochemical (PRefChem) has taken its cracker off-stream. A source in Malaysia informed a team member, “The cracker was shut last week due to raw material scarcity amid supply tightness caused by geopolitical tensions in West Asia. The exact duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Pengerang, Malaysia, the cracker has an ethylene production capacity of 1.2 million mt/year and propylene production capacity of 609,000 mt/year.
