Sichuan Shengda likely to halt production at PTA plant

Sichuan Shengda Chemical New Material is in plans to shut its Purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant. A source in China informed a team member, “The plant is expected to be taken offline in the second half of September 2025 for a maintenance turnaround. However, the exact date and duration of the shutdown remain unclear, and confirmation from an official source has not been obtained.” Located in Nanchong, China, the PTA plant has a production capacity of 1 million mt/year.
