India PTA: Prices track weaker PX; demand remains subdued / Export of finished goods on hold amid US tariffs / Average polyester plant run rates are being cut

Purified terephthalic acid prices in India fell day over day and week over week on Aug. 14, tracking feedstock paraxylene values during the week, while freight rates from various Asian origins remained stable from last week. Asian paraxylene prices dipped on Aug. 14, weighed by weak sentiment across broader commodities despite firmer crude and naphtha. PTA CFR India down $8/mt day over day and $3/mt from Aug. 8 at $694/mt on Aug. 14, placing the spread to CFR China at $75/mt. The weekly average fell $4.05/mt to $698.75/mt CFR India.
