PetroChina Harbin to resume production at MEK unit

PetroChina Harbin is likely to bring on stream its Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) unit. A source in China informed a team member, “The company plans to restart the unit in October 2025, following a turnaround. The unit was shut in the first half of September 2025. However, confirmation from an official source has not yet been obtained.” Located in Harbin, Heilongjiang in China, the unit has a production capacity of 30,000 mt/year.
