PRefChem undertakes unplanned shutdown at benzene unit

Pengerang Refining and Petrochemical (PRefChem) has taken off stream its benzene unit in Johor. A source in Malaysia informed a team member, “The company is heard to have halted operations at its unit earlier this week due to technical issues. The duration of the shutdown could not be confirmed, and no official statement from the company was available.” Located at Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia, the benzene unit has production capacity of 164,000 mt/year.
