Asian isomer-grade mixed xylene rose $1/mt day over day to $685/mt FOB Korea, $710.00/mt CFR Taiwan, and $696/mt CFR China Sept. 5, with firmer buying seen for FOB Korea cargoes loading in October. Week over week, the FOB Korea marker slumped by $5.50/mt, as downstream paraxylene weakened over that period. Domestic prices in China also inched upwards on Sept. 5. the domestic China ex-tank assessment up Yuan 47.66/mt day over day at Yuan 5,628.33/mt, or about $677.38/mt on an import parity basis. Supply of MX in China remained ample so the import demand was understood to have remained weak for the time being. paraxylene up $2.67/mt day over day at $830.67/mt CFR Taiwan/China, which meant the PX-MX spread widened day over day by $1.67/mt to $145.67/mt on Sept. 5.
