The MMA market fundamentals remained largely unchanged during the week from Aug. 27 to Sept. 3, with subdued activity across key regions, while prices inched up on the back of a firming domestic China market. During the week from Aug. 27 to Sept. 3, China’s domestic MMA market jumped by around Yuan 100/mt on the week, following the shutdown of some plants for maintenance. One source mentioned that the domestic market saw a mild price correction, but this shift was not driven by any substantial change in demand. Operating rates in China were estimated to be around 60%, reflecting a cautious production stance amid weak demand, said one source. Offers on the FOB China basis were heard around $1,190/mt from producers, with sellers showing reluctance to lower their offer levels...
