LG Chem operates solvents plant at lower rates

LG Chem is running its phenol and acetone plant at curtailed capacity levels. A source in South Korea informed a team member, “The plant is expected to be operational at around 75-80% of production capacity through January 2026. The reason behind the production cut could not be ascertained.” Located in Daesan, South Korea, the solvents plant has a phenol production capacity of 300,000 mt/year and acetone production capacity of 180,000 mt/year.
