LG Chem likely to take solvents plant off stream

LG Chem is in plans to shut down its solvents plant in Daesan. A source in South Korea informed a team member, “The company is expected to begin maintenance at the plant by mid October 2025. However, details regarding the duration of the shutdown have not been confirmed. However, no official confirmation has been received from the company.” Located in Daesan, South Korea, the solvents plant has a phenol production capacity of 300,000 mt/year and acetone production capacity of 180,000 mt/year.
