KPIC runs cracker at lower rates

Korea Petrochemical Industry Co (KPIC) is operating its cracker at curtailed capacity levels. A source in South Korea informed a team member, "The cracker has been operating at reduced capacity since early March 2026 due to a shortage of raw material amid supply constraints caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.” Located in Onsan, South Korea, the cracker has an ethylene production capacity of 900,000 mt/year and propylene production capacity of 460,000 mt/year.
