Purified terephthalic acid prices in India were volatile in the week to Aug. 29, easing a tad compared with last week after climbing up to $722/mt CFR India on Aug. 26. The prices tracked feedstock paraxylene values during the week, while the spread between CFR China and CFR India prices remained stable. PTA CFR India stable day over day but down $4/mt week over week at $712/mt on Aug. 29, placing the spread to CFR China at $78/mt. The weekly average rose $9.4/mt to $715.8/mt CFR India.
