Fundamentals in the Indian acetic acid market remained stable in the week to Aug. 21, supported by healthy supply and thinning producer margins. Domestic ex-tank prices were rangebound at around Rupees 33/kg at Kandla and Mumbai ports, bolstered by healthy port inventories. Kandla port inventory was heard to be healthy above 35,000 mt, with consistent cargo arrivals on India’s west coast adding to stock levels. Approximately 7,000 mt was expected to unload at the Aegis terminal on Aug. 21, according to a market source. Acetic acid supply fundamentals remained robust, driven by surplus availability from China, market sources said.
