GPPC to run No.3 SM plant at curtailed levels

Grand Pacific Petrochemical Co (GPPC) is likely to run its No.3 styrene monomer (SM) plant at reduced rates. A source in Taiwan informed a team member, “The company is expected to run the plant at around 80% of its production capacity in the near term. The reason for the production reduction is unclear, and no official confirmation has been received from authorized sources.” Located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the No.3 SM plant has a production capacity of 250,000 mt/year.
