High and very low sulfur fuel oil availability increased across Europe on Sept. 9, while 1% product remained in tight supply. The Northwest European high sulfur fuel oil market remained stable following late-August tightness, with traders reporting no significant supply constraints as barrels from South and Central America continued arriving via open arbitrage windows. “There are plenty of HSFO imports so far for September,” a trader said. Despite the healthier supply picture, demand remained soft, with bunker purchasing activity described as subdued.
