Asian EDC/VCM: Supply shortage pressures EDC prices / EDC spot supply tight / VCM CFR NE Asia down $17/mt EDC strengthens on competitive cargo

Asian ethylene dichloride spot prices were stronger as the market heard competitive trades in the week to Aug. 28. CFR Far East Asia EDC up $10/mt in the week ended Aug. 28 at $190/mt, in line with tradable indications heard at $190/mt. CFR Southeast Asia EDC was assessed up $10/ mt in the week ended Aug. 28 at $200/mt, in line with tradable indications heard at $200/mt. Earlier in the week, a Northeast Asian trader said, "Asian EDC prices are now at CFR Southeast Asia $185/mt, CFR Northeast Asia $170/mt."
