CPDC announces FM on ACN supplies from Kaohsiung units

China Petrochemical Development Corp (CPDC) has declared a force majeure (FM) on supplies of Acrylonitrile (ACN) from its units in Kaohsiung. A source in Japan informed a team member, “The company declared the FM around March 9, 2026, due to supply disruptions caused by ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Further details on the duration of the FM could not be ascertained.” Located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the two units have individual production capacities of 240,000 mt/year.
