Asian acrylonitrile prices fell in the week ended Sept. 8 as domestic Chinese supply tightness eased. ACN CFR Far East Asia down $10/metric ton week over week at $1,530/mt on Sept. 8, while ACN FOB China was down $20/mt at $1,490/mt over the same period. Market sources said prices have started to cool over the past two weeks, supported by multiple domestic plant restarts, including Liaoning Kingfa, which restarted its 130,000 mt/year ACN line in Liaoning on Aug. 31 after a turnaround, and Jiangsu Sailboat (Sierbang) Petrochemical Co. Jiangsu Sailboat restarted its 260,000 mt/y No. 2 ACN unit in Lianyungang on Sept. 8 after a two-month planned maintenance.
