Stable amid firmer propylene feedstock / South Korea's ACN exports reach a five-month high

On August 19, despite limited discussions on spot prices, the Asian acrylonitrile price remained stable from week to week at $1.115/mt for Far East Asia, and $1.110/mt for Southeast Asia. The Asian ACN price has been the same since July 8. ACN prices in Asia remained low amid abundant supplies. Sources said that Chinese suppliers are still eager to export due to higher export values than the domestic Chinese market. According to market sources, the local China market hovered around Yuan 8,200-8500/mt, which is equivalent to $1 020-$1,030/mt based on import-parity. The latest data from Korea Customs shows that South Korea's ACN exports increased 69% from June, to a five month high of 22,121mt. This was due to the increasing supplies from China.
