The Asian Acetic Acid market remained largely stable, with Chinese domestic prices increasing minimally while prices in Southeast Asia remained stable. Acetic Acid Domestic China up Yuan 35/metric ton week over week at Yuan 2,915/mt July 30, within discussions heard at Yuan 2,880-2,950/mt, as domestic availability tightened on regional maintenance and reduced export supply. Market sources said supply in east China became tighter after a domestic acetic acid plant began scheduled maintenance on July 16, with the outage expected to continue until about Aug. 10. The shutdown reduced prompt availability in the region and supported firmer selling indications.
