EDC prices steady amid thin trades Asian ethylene dichloride spot prices remained unchanged as market participants adopted a wait-and-see approach in the week to Sept. 11. CFR Far East Asia EDC at $190/mt in the week ended Sept. 11, aligning with tradable indications heard at $190/ mt. CFR Southeast Asia EDC was also assessed unchanged at $200/mt, in line with tradable indications heard at $200/mt. Market sources said EDC producers are maintaining low production rates due to weak downstream demand for PVC Producers indicated they would only increase production if PVC prices rise. EDC FOB US Gulf at $120/mt on Sept. 9, unchanged week over week.
