Asian toluene prices moved higher Feb. 20 amid few spot discussions as most Asian markets remained closed for the Lunar New Year holidays. There were no transparent bids or offers during the Platts Market on Close assessment process Feb. 20. the FOB Korea and FOB China markers up $7/mt at $736/mt and $727/mt, respectively, while the prompt ex-tank East China supply market was stable from the previous session at Yuan 5,440/mt Feb. 20, equivalent to about $680.95/ mt on an import-parity basis. South Korea’s toluene exports reached 86,019 mt in January, rising 26.99% month over month and more than quadrupling year over year, customs data released Feb. 16 showed.
