Asian Toluene: Prices fall tracking decline in upstream markets / Brent futures fall $10.38/b / C+F Japan naphtha marker down $115/mt

Asian toluene $33/mt lower from the previous close at $1,079/mt FOB Korea and $33/mt lower day over day at $1,076/mt FOB China marker on April 1. Crude oil futures declined in mid-afternoon Asian trade on April 1 as both the US and Iranian Presidents signaled deescalation efforts. Both upstream crude and naphtha markets weakened, with the front-month ICE June Brent futures $10.38/b lower day over day at $102.21/b at the April 1 Asian close. The -assessed C+F Japan naphtha marker was at $1,092.50/mt, down $115/mt day over day. A Northeast Asia-based producer expects toluene prices to remain firm in the near term amid tight feedstock supply. The same producer said that in March, South Korea shipped 30,000 mt to India.
