Asian Styrene Monomer: Prices extend losses amid slower downstream demand / Styrene futures down Yuan 64/mt DOD / East China styrene monomer port inventory down 11,500 mt on week

Asian Styrene Monomer CFR China and FOB Korea at $971/metric ton and $973/mt, respectively, on Feb. 6, both down $9/mt day over day, tracking a decline in the domestic Chinese market. The March EB2603 SM futures contract listed on the Dalian Commodity Exchange was at Yuan 7,625/mt on Feb. 6, down Yuan 64/mt day over day as of the afternoon trading session at 3 pm Beijing time. “The styrene market is slowing ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays,” a China-based trade source said.
