The South Asian polypropylene market strengthened in the week to Sept. 2 as a stronger upstream amid the Middle East war flare-up, higher freight rates from China, and a preference for cargoes with clearer delivery timelines pushed up sell-side discussions, while a risk-off buying sentiment capped the rise in prices. PP raffia/injection grade up $35/mt week over week at $1,325/mt CFR South Asia Sept. 2, below the lowest offer heard and corroborated at $1,330/mt, above buying indications heard at $1,300-$1,310/mt and within tradable indications heard at $1,300-$1,330/mt CFR South Asia.
