South Asia Polyethylene: Prices unchanged amid thin offers / Thin trading activity amid wait-and-watch approach / Market awaits September shipments

The South Asian polyethylene market prices were steady in the week to Aug. 26, with traders preferring to “wait and watch” amid ongoing crude volatility and thin trading. various polyethylene grades unchanged week over week on a CFR South Asia basis. Low-density polyethylene film was stable at $1,440/ metric ton; high-density polyethylene grades were unchanged at $1,280/mt for pipe natural, blowmolding, and film grade; and linear low-density polyethylene was unmoved at $1,255/mt. A majority of the market expects prices to increase during the next round of offers, as shipment constraints and a lack of definitive timelines persist.
