Prices in the South Asian polyethylene market edged lower for some PE grades in the week ended Oct. 29, amid lower discussion levels for Middle East-origin cargoes and continued softness in demand. Though some domestic producers shared a stable outlook with a possibility of market activity picking up with the end of the holiday season in India, the price discussions for imports continued to drop. Moreover, some trades for Middle East-origin HDPE material were heard concluded earlier at lower rates. The LLDPE market in the region remained largely stable amid fewer trade discussions and rangebound price ideas.
